Spirit Week = FUN at FMU!!

Howdy!

My name is Crystal Hill and I am currently serving as the Faculty Advisor for the Zeta Phi chapter at Francis Marion University. As the summer comes to a close, it is my job to make sure Spirit Week 2007 is ready to go. This is the week before recruitment, which allows our chapter to prepare as a whole for the upcoming formal recruitment.

It is my pleasure to be the Faculty Advisor and help plan an exciting week for girls that is not only filled with work but also fun and excitement and to also help keep spirit and morale high when times could get very stressful. This year the spirit week will take on a whole new look. Filled with "Dress Up" days which include Superhero day, Polo and pearls, Red Carpet Day, Nerd day and a few more; also days will include a few fun icebreakers and activities to give the girls a break from all of their hard work. Slide shows and music will be playing at the beginning of each recruitment workshop to get the energy flowing and running high, the slide shows will show pictures from the day before of girls working hard and bonding with their sisters.

I would like to reward all the girls who come to spirit week ready to work but also ready to play. Categories for prizes to be given out in include Best Dressed for each Pledge Class, Overall Best Dressed, Most Spirited, Hardest Working and Most original costume. I would like these prizes to be well worth the effort, however money comes in a short supply when it comes to spirit week.

Some of the prizes include…

- iTunes Gift cards
- Nail Gift cards
- Gift Cards to the local Movie Theaters
- Alpha Delta Pi Blanket
- Francis Marion University Blanket
- Starbucks Gift Cards

These are some of the big prizes that I would really enjoy giving to girls who work hard and play hard during spirit week. Playing hard during spirit week is just as important as working hard; the dressing up is what makes spirit week out of the ordinary and different from all other recruitment days. Spirit week is important to preparing for the formal recruitment process and I am so excited for it to get underway; I am also very excited to make this spirit week unlike one ever experienced before. Any help is greatly appreciated thank you so much for your time.

Loyally,

Crystal R. Hill, Ph.D.
